The Most Engineering Experience in the Industry!
We realize every project is unique and we will provide the necessary
equipment to ensure your project is successful, on-time and, in most cases,
under budget. In addition to all of the accessories listed below, we can
provide flash barriers (for Arc Resistant Switchgear), flexible joints (when
vibration is an issue) and copper busbars. We are here to provide the
engineering, expertise and equipment to see that your project is a success.
Boxes
We can design and build boxes to meet the system requirements. Tap Boxes,
transformer
Termination Boxes, switchgear/MCC top hats and junction boxes
are all available to provide the necessary space to complete the installation.
The boxes are made from aluminum angle frame with fully welded
construction and have removable panels for easy access.
MCT Fire Stops and Wall Seals
We use MCT type Fire Stops to provide a 3-hour rated, UL listed fire barrier.
When a fire barrier is not required, we can provide an
Environmental Seal that
is a weatherproof seal for walls, floors and equipment.
Connection Flange
Connection Flanges are used to connect the cable bus housing to the indoor
electrical equipment (switchgear, motor control center, etc...)
Connectors
Two hole long barrel compression lugs are used to terminate the cable to the
busbars inside the electrical equipment. Each termination comes complete
with the silicon bronze termination hardware to attach the lugs to the
termination point.
Termination Kits
Termination Kits are available in both heat shrink and cold shrink types and
can be used either indoors or outdoors.
Our System
Advanced Cable Bus systems have an ampacity range from 800A to 6000A and
voltage ratings of 600V, 5kV, 15kV, 25kV and 35kV. Each system is custom
designed and manufactured to meet your specific job requirements.
Enclosure
Advanced Cable Bus enclosures are manufactured using 6063-T6 aluminum
extruded side rail. Our uniquely shaped side rail creates a stronger housing
which allows for longer spans (20+ feet). These longer spans can drastically
reduce the amount of support material required for your project. Bottom    sections
of housing are fully welded with all welds made inside the enclosure which
creates a cleaner, more esthetically pleasing look to the entire system. Top and
bottom covers are constructed of flat slotted aluminum sheets with 50% of open
area for maximum ventilation. Bottom covers are factory welded in place to the
side members. The top covers are fastened to the housing with self-drilling
screws and are easily removable for system inspection. The Short Circuit Braces
are factory welded to the side members resulting in added strength, rigidity as
well as a more compact housing.
Short Circuit Brace
The U-shaped design of the Short Circuit Brace, that is made from 6063-T6
structural aluminum, is factory welded to the housing side rail creating an
extremely strong and rigid construction. The combination of the cable support
blocks and Short Circuit Brace allows our standard design Cable Bus system to
withstand short circuit forces of 100KA RMS. Our exclusive U-shape Short Circuit
Brace also eases installation by  allowing the cable and cable support blocks to
be installed without the hassle of temporarily installing  support block clamping
bolts, until after all of the cables are in place. This is true for both the horizontal
and vertical bus runs.
Cable Support Blocks
The power cables are firmly supported in the enclosure using cable support
blocks which are available in two different materials, hard rock maple which is
treated, primed and coated with a fire retardant paint (standard) or high density
polyethylene (H.D.P.E.). All blocks supplied with the system are non-hydroscopic,
non-tracking, shock resistant, high temperature and UV resistant.  This allows for
installations in difficult  outdoor environments and provides a life expectancy of 40
or more years. The cable support blocks are spaced, in accordance with NEC
article 370, every 36” on centers for horizontal straight runs and 18” on centers for
vertical straight runs and elbows. Bottom segments of cable support blocks are
factory pre-installed prior to shipment to speed the installation process.
Power Cable
All conductors used in our Cable Bus system are single conductor, fully insulated
power cables and all   conductors are supplied according to the voltage class and
BIL level specified. The number of cables used in each system is determined
based on amperage, voltage drop and maximum operating temperature
requirements specified. Since the cable is the heart of our Cable Bus system,
great importance is given to the type of cable used for your specific project.
Advanced Cable Bus, Inc. only furnishes cable from well established, well
respected cable manufacturers with outstanding reputations for quality and
service.
Elbow Fittings
Our horizontal and vertical elbows are curved and follow the radius of the cable
perfectly. Standard   elbows can have a radius of 12”, 18” 24” and 36”. The radius
of the elbow is determined by the minimum bending radius of the cable and
design space requirements. Standard horizontal and vertical elbows   consist of
15°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90° bends. Custom elbows are also available to meet your
specific job requirements. Click
